| Richard Alan Banton -
DPT, ATC Clinic Director, Virginia Therapy and Fitness Center, Inc. |
Following graduation, he worked for Reston Hospital for two years where he treated a variety of patients from neurological disorders to work related injuries. From 2000 to 2004 he worked at Spine & Sport Physical Therapy in Manassas, Virginia where he specializes in treatment of spine related injuries such as whiplash, SI dysfunction, post surgical fusions, and chronic cervical and low back pain. He continues to remain active in sports related injuries by working closely with local high schools and fitness centers. Richard is co–owner of Mid Atlantic Physical Therapy Associates, (MAPTA), an organization principally designed for physical therapists interested in the study of orthopedic manual and manipulative therapy. For the past three years MAPTA and NAIOMT have hosted numerous continuing education seminars detailing biomechanical assessments of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, in addition to extremity joints. Richard also serves as lab instructor for Richard Jackson’s Pelvic Girdle and Functional Relationships Seminars. Richard believes that all patients are unique and therefore deserve physical therapy that is specific to their needs. The Virginia Therapy and Fitness Center is just the place for this goal to be achieved. By incorporating evidence-based research, advanced manual therapy, patient education, and comprehensive examinations, Richard strives to provide his patients with the highest quality of physical therapy. |

| Johanna
Beuhring - DPT Virginia Therapy and Fitness Center, Inc. |
Johanna believes that in order to treat her patients most effectively she must constantly strive to improve her knowledge base and manual therapy skill set as a physical therapist. She is currently pursuing certification as a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist through The North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). Johanna takes much pride in working at VTFC due to the unique opportunity for the therapists to provide individualized, hands-on care. She values the time she spends with her patients and places particular emphasis on patient education. In her experience, she realizes that the more patients know about their condition and the role physical therapy plays in their lives, the more the patients become empowered and motivated to work with the therapist in achieving their best possible outcome. Outside of work, Johanna enjoys spending time with family, hiking, camping, and traveling. |
