The hip and knee are comprised of many muscles and nerves that all work together to allow our bodies to move fluidly. Sometimes, however, these muscles and nerves experience issues that lead to pain and inflammation, numbness, or weakness. Many patients seek help from a physical therapist in those instances because it could be they have pulled a muscle or one of the nerves is being compressed. Physical therapy can help reduce inflammation and provide exercises that gradually stretch and strengthen the musculature.

Common pain syndromes and injuries related to the hip and knee include, but are not limited to:

Hip Arthritis

Iliotibial Band Syndrome (IT-Band Syndrome)
