Q: What should I bring to my first appointment?
A: Please bring your completed New Patient Registration form, insurance card, and physical therapy order from your referring provider, if you have one. If not, please refer to the "Direct Access" guidelines.

Q: What should I wear to my appointments?
A: We’ve found that patients are most comfortable in “workout” attire including athletic shorts, comfortable t-shirts, and sneakers.

Q: How long will my appointments generally be?
A. Each appointment is approximately one hour to one hour and fifteen minutes. We respect your time as we hope you do ours. Please arrive on time so that we can maximize the scheduled time with our therapists in an effort to progress in your treatment plan.

Q: How many appointments will I need?
A: This is typically determined by the outcome of the initial evaluation performed by your physical therapist. To ensure consistency of care and progress in healing, we recommend scheduling the suggested number of appointments at the onset of your treatment.

Q: What special programs are offered at VTFC?
A: Physical therapy, personal training, massage, nutrition, Pilates, group fitness classes, aquatic therapy, vestibular therapy, ergonomic evaluations.

Q: Does VTFC accept insurance?
A: Virginia Therapy & Fitness Center will accept most insurance as an out-of-network provider. This means we will bill your insurance using your out-of-network benefits. Most insurance policies require you to meet an annual deductible before they will cover a portion of the services. We would be happy to assist you in sorting through this information as it pertains to your insurance plan.

Q: Does VTFC accept Medicare or Medicaid?
A: Currently Virginia Therapy & Fitness Center accepts Medicare Part B and will bill as an out-of-network provider. All Medicare patients will be required to pay at the time of service and we will file the claim. Once the claim is processed by Medicare you will receive direct reimbursement. We are not currently accepting new Medicaid patients.

Q: What does being an out-of-network provider mean for patients?
A: Out of Network means we will provide physical therapy services as a non-participating provider with your insurance. VTFC is not contracted with any insurance, therefore any remaining difference between what your insurance covers and VTFC charges becomes patient responsibility.

Q: What will my insurance cover?
A: Each policy varies with the amount of coverage you may have. Please contact your insurance company to verify your specific policy’s out-of-network physical therapy benefits.

Q: Will VTFC submit my claims for me?
A: For your convenience, Virginia Therapy & Fitness Center will submit claims to all primary insurance carriers and most secondary carriers. Patients also have the option of self-claim submission at any time.
