Physical Therapist
Melissa received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University’s Physical Therapy program, which gave her a strong background in manual therapy. She has years of experience treating a variety of orthopedic conditions, with a passion in helping people recover following ACL injuries and reconstruction surgery. After undergoing her own ACL reconstruction she is able to empathize with patients in the struggle of going through the recovery process following injuries and surgery. Melissa also has background in treating patients experiencing vertigo and has training in rehabilitation following limb lengthening surgeries.
Melissa utilizes a combination of manual therapy, including trigger point dry needling, and exercise to help patients achieve their goals and return to an active lifestyle. No matter what your goal is, Melissa will listen to your concerns and help come up with a plan to get you back to the activities you love and give you tools to prevent injuries in the future.
What do you hope your patients learn from spending time with you?
I hope my patients learn effective ways that they can achieve their goals to return to a pain free lifestyle while continuing to better their health.
What are your hobbies?
I love travelling and all things outdoors, especially with my husband and two fur babies, River and Lacy. Staying active has always been a priority for me and I enjoy running and competing in half marathons!
